Had the honor to work on the World of Warcraft line for McFarlane Toys. We received some of the weapons but most were very low poly game models. We used them as bases and built and sculpted them to high detailed models. Adding more depth or texture to the detail using the texture information from the game models. Yet the staff was the only one that was made, it still was great working and matching a popular IP such as World of Warcraft.
I made and matched the style and design of WOW to create the bases for the dragons. Used Orb brushes to achieve the licensing style. The stone dragon base was canceled due to cost but we did use the designed base but scaled it to give more thickness and took out some details due to cost.
A goblin mage I sculpted and modeled that sadly was never produced. He would have had multiple faces. One with his mask and the other without. Used 3ds Max and ZBrush to create the creature mage. Had multiple bushes in Zbrush to create the cracks and chains.
